Environment Artist
Hazelight Studios creates games built on strong characters, emotion, and truly unique co-op experiences. We are the studio behind A Way Out, It Takes Two and Split Fiction. We are now looking for an Environment Artist to help bring memorable worlds to life in our next game.
About the role
As an Environment Artist at Hazelight, you will have a key role in crafting our immersive game worlds and the visual identity of our games. You’ll work closely with the Art Director, Level Designers, Programmers, and fellow Artists in smaller teams to create environments that are not only visually striking, but also support gameplay, storytelling, and emotional impact.
What you'll do
Create high-quality game environments in Unreal Engine
Model, texture, and set up environment assets
Work with lighting, color, and composition to establish mood and atmosphere
Collaborate closely with Level Design in a pod structure to develop gameplay and art in conjunction
Contribute creatively to interdisciplinary discussions and the overall visual direction of the games
Own a part of the game and see it through from blockout to shipping
Optimize and polish environments to get them ready for shipping
We’re looking for someone who
Has experience creating environment art for games and we’re open to different levels of experience, from junior to senior. What matters most to us is your ideas, craft, and how you collaborate with the team
Is comfortable working in Unreal Engine (or similar real-time engines)
Has strong skills in 3D modeling and texturing
Has a solid understanding of form, color, lighting, and composition
Enjoys working in a highly collaborative, iterative environment
Enjoys taking initiative, exploring ideas, proposing solutions, and actively shaping the game rather than simply executing predefined tasks
Open to create art for a wide variety of styles and games

This is an onsite role located in Stockholm, Sweden. We offer hybrid work from home but require everyone to be present at the office at least 3 days a week

Known for innovation, Hazelight developed "A Way Out" from 2015 to 2018, marking the first-ever co-op-only third-person action-adventure.
